1. How To Place An Order: Basic orders are simple. Go to the item you want (under artists sections please click on the album image). When you are viewing the selection you want to place in your shopping basket, click on "add to cart" icon . This places the item in the basket for your review and approval. If you wish to selection other items, go back to continue shopping and select other items. You will have the option to cancel or change your selections at any time up until you press the submit order button at the very end.  **Mac users, please do not use the Safari browser to complete your order**

2. How to Check Out: You will need to enter your Name and Address where the music is to be shipped, your e-mail address and daytime phone number along with your credit card information. Please be careful and enter correct information as this will expedite your order. Your personal information including your credit card number are kept secure and transmitted safely to our computer, which is also secure and not "OnLine" and subject to tampering.

3. How to Download: Once you have purchased the download through our secure server checkout you can return and log in to your account at the bottom of the front page.  Once you enter your user name and password you will be able to click on a link to Music Locker (downloads) details.  Once in your music locker - click on the music that has the downloads and you will see a live link to all the download files.  Download these to your hard drive and rename them the proper song titles if you like and place them in your play lists. 4. Ordering by Phone or Mail: If you do not feel comfortable with using the Secure OnLine ordering, you may call toll free 1-800-678-8863 for your order. 5. Login Problems:  We occasionally hear some people have trouble re-entering the site to pick up downloads or to reorder at a later date.  This is most commonly due to the user forgetting their login User Name or their Password. Please store your information in a safe place so you can retrieve this information for later use.  If you forget your user name please send an email here.

6. Gift Certificates: If you have gift certificates, you must call us to order (1-800-678-8863) and we will apply the gift certificate amount to your order.  We will deduct the amount of the certificate from your total and charge the difference to your credit card or issue another gift certificate to your for the remainder. Shopping Safety: About Our Security

We receive many emails from users asking how secure it is to send their credit card number through the Internet. The fear exists that somehow their card number might be stolen by hackers, and then used to run up large bills.

The reality of the situation is that it is extremely unlikely your credit card number could be intercepted when placing an order through this or most other websites. Especially since we offer SSL encryption ( Secure Sockets Layer), which encrypts the data sent from your browser to our servers and is practically impossible to decrypt by even the cleverest hackers. It was documented that to break a single 40-bit encrypted transmission (such as this website uses), it was necessary to use 120 workstations and two parallel supercomputers at three major research centers for 8 days. And that was to read only one single transmission.

Stolen credit card numbers are most often obtained through methods unrelated to the Internet, the most common being stealing US mail from mailboxes or clerks in stores collecting numbers from receipts.

And once they have obtained these numbers, what then? They need to find a way to use them, and this is where Music by Mail makes great effort to insure that your card number will not be used for a fraudulent order online. We electronically verify the order with the credit companies at the moment the order is filled, returning an order confirmed message only if the credit companies authorize it. Our experienced staff then manually checks all orders which still appear unusual, canceling any we feel are not valid.

So we feel that shopping online with us is perfectly safe, just as safe as shopping in our physical store. Give it a try!

Shipping Options:

1. Standard First Class US Mail (Up To 2 CDs): We ship USPS First Class mail as our basic service for $3.50 for orders up to 2 CDs. You can expect delivery anywhere from 2-5 days. We have experienced wonderful service from the US Post service and expect you will be satisfied with this method.

2. Priority Mail (Up To 7 CDs): We ship USPS Priority mail as our basic service for $4.95 for orders up to 4 CDs and $5.95 for orders 5 or more CDs. This means 3 days or less and we recommend this if you are in quick need and live in the western United States. We have experienced the longer deliveries out west so we recommend you consider this option.

3. UPS Ground (unlimited): We ship UPS Ground delivery for 7 CDs or more. This means 4 days or less delivery time. This is a very safe way to ship your order.  Currently we offer free UPS ground on all orders shipped to the United States greater than $99!

4. Overnight Delivery (US Only): For $25.00 we can ship via United Parcel Service or Federal Express Overnight service (more for Saturday delivery). Limit 2 CDs - additional charge for more than 2 CDs. Please be advised that unless you specify, we will ship requiring a signature, so it is important to give us an address that you or someone who can sign for the package will be at during the normal business day hours. Order must be received by 3 pm Central Standard Time.

5. Overseas and Canadian Deliveries: We welcome orders from outside America but we limit these orders to a maximum of 2 CDs per order. We ship Global Priority which should arrive very quickly. Our standard Global Priority mail rates are $7US for one CD and $11US for two CDs. Our Canadian Rates are $6US for one CD and $9US for two. We are limited to shipping two CDs maximum. You can expect deliveries in 5-7 days.

6. We Ship Fast!: 95% of orders placed before 4:00pm CST are shipped the same day. We strive for top notch customer service and this means getting all orders out immediately. Our customer response has been tremendous (Customer Comments). Please give us a chance.

Problems with Shipments:

Any situations requiring further assistance on Jazz by Mail's part should be described in an email to our contact page. Please include all pertinent information - order number, name, address, phone number, email address, and please describe the situation as thoroughly as possible. We will do whatever it takes to solve the problem.

And please, always include your ID number (##########) with any correspondence.

What if I ordered a CD I already own?

Send it back with an explanatory note, and we'll replace it with another choice (of equal or lesser value).

What if my CD jewel case is damaged?

We'll be happy to replace it. Just contact Jazz by Mail staff at our contact page and we'll send it right out.

What if the wrong CD's were shipped?

Send it back and we'll cover your postage up to $3.50 within the US with a check when we replace it. If it's International, contact us at our contact page and we'll work it out.

Trade-In Unwanted CDs:

You may receive cash or trade credit when you trade-in those unwanted and seldom listened-to CDs. We accept only CDs that are in excellent condition. You can expect to receive top dollar for your trade-ins and we will issue you an offer when you submit to us your trade list. This has proven to be quite popular and is a good source for recycling those space-takers in your collection.
