John Gill & His Sentimental Serenaders Learn to Croon
This CD is special! This is one you will put in your player, sit back, relax and enjoy (perhaps with a favorite beverage). Who would have imagined that John Gill, the multi-talented instrumentalist and jazz singer could so credibly re-create the phrasing and timbre of the great Bing Crosby.

Bob Erdos - Cheers!
Bob Erdos founded Stomp Off Records in the 1970s with an unwavering dedication to the creation and preservation of a musical art form that was not an interest of the commercial record labels. He founded the label with the intent on having some fun and making some great music. Now, after his 400th release, we are celebrating a true American Musical Treasure in this collection of terrific recordings he has produced. Thanks Bob!
"Bob's Box"
The lastest from Stomp Off Founder Bob Erdos:
Stomp Off Records would like to pay tribute to the dean of British jazz, Humphrey Lyttelton, trumpeter, clarinetist, band leader, cartoonist, writer and broadcaster, who died April 25, 2008 at the age of 87. It is fair to say that Humphrey Lyttelton & His Band playing at the 100 Club on Oxford Street, London in July 1950, was the single jazz experience that inspired my interest in traditional jazz, leading in time, to the formation of Stomp Off Records -- dedicated to preservation of the styles and repertoire of the classic period of jazz, essentially the 1920s and earlier. One of the highlights of my recording activities was a reunion session of Humphrey Lyttelton with clarinetist Wally Fawkes in 1986 which captured wonderfully the style of the 1949-1951 Lyttelton band. This recording was released on Stomp Off LP SOS 1160 and later reissued on Lake Records (U.K.) LACD 89. Humphrey Lyttelton had earlier recorded an LP for Stomp Off with clarinetist Kenny Davern, SOS 1111 reissued on Lake LACD 180, and the Humphrey Lyttelton - Wally Fawkes Troglodytes recorded Stomp Off CD 1238 in 1992. Humphrey Lyttelton was a gentle man, who was one of a rare breed who could, after adopting more modern styles of playing, go back and play the way he did many years earlier. Very knowledgeable about jazz history, Humphrey Lyttelton's weekly Radio 4 programme "The Best of Jazz" began in 1967 and ran continuously for more than forty years; he frequently played Stomp Off recordings. Thanks, Humph.
