Duke Heitger
Steamboat Stompers
Duke Heitger Home Page
Duke HeitgerThe first incarnation of the Steamboat Stompers came about  in 1991, when cornetist Eddie Bayard teamed up with the New  Orleans Steamboat Company, resulting in live jazz heard  daily on an authentic steamboat. Eddie hired some of the  finest musicians in the country (who happened to live in New  Orleans) for the job. Luckily for Duke, he work with these  same musicians. They all appreciate Eddie Bayard's dedication and hard work in preserving the tradition of live  jazz on the river. And Duke owe sincere thanks to the great  musicians who work in the Streamboat Stompers--the players  heard on this recording and also those who did not play on  this session. They all help Duke to present high-quality music on a daily basis aboard the NATCHEZ.
