Australia's great "Riverboat Days" began in 1853 and ended half a century later, just as the jazz era began. It's a pity the old rivermen aren't alive to hear this recording. Dave Dallwitz has captured the true spirit of the river in his music. These are the kings of Australian jazz playing marvellous music about the most picturesque part of Australia's past with the bonus of three lovely piano solos from American jazz great Earl Hines.
