Les Red Hot Reedwarmers
King Joe
Les Red Hot Reedwarmers Home Page
Les Red Hot ReedwarmersJimmy Noone's Apex Club Orchestra was one of the very best bands that played in the southside of Chicago from 1928 through 1931.  Les Red Hot Reedwarmers from the south of France these many decades later, using a similar instrumentation, play with an energy that does great honor to the memory of Jimmie Noone.  Their repretoire is based mostly on Noone's recordings, but each tune is arranged in a way that highlights the particular talent of each band member.  The recording was made in July, 2005 at the Edinburgh International Jazz Festival.  Be prepared to be thrilled by this truly remarkable group.  The reed playing of the dynamic duo of clarinetist Aurelie Tropez and clarinetist/alto saxophonist Stephane Gillot has to be heard to be believed.  Don't miss out on this exceptional jazz experience.
