Les Red Hot Reedwarmers
Apex Blues
Les Red Hot Reedwarmers Home Page
Les Red Hot ReedwarmersThe name of this group is quite apt as the front line is clarinet and alto sax (doubling clarinet and baritone sax), and they are HOT!  Are they ever!!  Their model is Jimmie Noone's Apex Club Orchestra which was the resident band at the Apex Club , Chicago, 1928 thru 1931.  The Reedwarmers' first CD, Stomp Off 1416, has been very well received by fans and musicians alike; this new one is ever better, due in part to a recording with a more immediate presence that enables the listener to hear and feel the considerable emotion conveyed by these remarkable musicians.  The closing tune on this CD is entitles, "Love (Your Magic Spell Is Everywhere)".  We sincerely believe you, our Stomp Off collectors, will indeed love this CD, as the Reedwarmers' magic spell is everywhere.

If you have heard their first album, this one is just as good. In particular, Aurelie Tropez' clarinet playing is outstanding! I'd still like to hear them in a good studio recording, though.

Your audio link on the Reedwarmers seems messed up -- brings up what sounds like a Sofie Tucker number.
