Ken Peplowski & Dick Hyman ~ E Pluribus Duo
The Dynamic Duo of Ken Peplowski and Dick Hyman team up for this terrific recording. The result is a concept album built on, actually, two concepts: duets between a couple of unusually compatible performers, and a repertoire of musicians' pieces composed over the last 65 or so years by musicians who are well known in their own right such as Django Reinhardt, Zoot Sims, Charlie Parker, and more. You can't miss with this album!

He started playing alto sax in the high school band while in the third grade. At the age of ten he was part of a family group called "The Hillbilly Kids" which appeared across central Indiana. At eleven years of age he was playing clarinet with the Hoosier Symphony at Canterbury College in Danville. He appeared on the Horace Heidt Amateur Hour in Terre Haute at the age of thirteen, and became a featured performer with the Indiana State Legion Band in Indianapolis. Bob won first place awards in the All State Indiana Music Contest all four years of high school. Entering Butler University for a semester, he then went on active duty in the Marine Corps. more...

Some of these local favorites became national stars on the world stage because of the spotlight that Gaslight Square emitted. more...
